*Biography*
Born in Yaoundé, K-Tino (@KTinoOfficiel), whose real name is Catherine Edoa Ngoa, is an icon of Cameroonian bikutsi music. Zanzibar Epémé (@ZanzibarEpeme), guitarist of the group Les Têtes Brûlées (@LesTetesBrulees), was her spiritual mentor at the beginning of her career. In the late 1980s, she took her first steps on the microphone at the Escalier Bar cabaret in the Nlongkak neighborhood of Yaoundé. Initially known as Catino, she became K-Tino and released her first album, "Ascenseur", in 1991. Her music, characterized by catchy rhythms and explicit lyrics, quickly made her an indispensable figure in bikutsi.
After a hiatus marked by her album "La Danse Bankalisée" in 2010, K-Tino made a remarkable comeback in 2018 with a collaboration with Mani Bella (@ManiBellaOfficiel) on the song "Le Secret de MaMa". This collaboration marked her return and she is now nicknamed La Mama by her fans. In 2018, she presented her single "Wata Fufu" on the talk show La Grosse Émission (@LaGrosseEmission) in Yaoundé. This title renewed her successful formula: an energetic rhythm and striking lyrics. This song earned her a nomination for Female Artist of the Year at the Canal 2'Or (@Canal2Or) awards, a ceremony that rewards cultural actors from Cameroon and Central Africa.
